From the series, Cloth as a Memory Object, Lineage explores how textiles and materials carry generational knowledge, hold memory, and connection to family heritage and the landscape.
This piece began after the birth of my first child where I began to cast materials that belonged to my grandmother who was a quilter and fiber artist. I used the form and imagery of the warp chain from weaving to symbolize ancestral connection between the body and spirit.
